How the National Careers Service can work with you

The National Careers Service is a free of charge to access and provides up to date, impartial information, advice and guidance on careers, skills and the labour market in England. Whether someone is unemployed and looking for work, employed and seeking a new career, aiming for a promotion, or wants to start learning, our goal is to help our customers to progress.

We pride ourselves on offering our customers a tailored service to ensure they get to where they want to be and reach their full potential. Over the past year our qualified advisers have worked with over 27,000 customers throughout the South West. With the help of our advisers all of these customers were able to improve the skills needed to manage their own careers. 6,000 of those who contacted the National Careers Service chose to update their skills and entered accredited learning and approximately 5,800 successfully started a new position or progressed in their current career.

We are very proud of the number of people we were able to help but we always want to help more, as such, we are continuously seeking new organisations to help support with their recruitment or training needs. We can do this by working together to shortlist potential candidates, as well as identifying suitable job seekers that are looking for new positions. We are also able to work with current staff, helping them to upskill and develop within their careers.

The National Careers Service is also in search of subcontractors who would like to work with us to deliver our service across the South West. If you feel your organisation is able to help us to further motivate, inspire, and support customers to move forward into learning or employment, we want to hear from you.
