A New Business Venture!

A new Business venture has been launched in Cornwall. Aalgaard Renshaw Business Solutions. An exciting and innovative Business Services Consultancy which has the potential to provide much needed support for organisations that wish to raise money for their projects. ARBS provides a vibrant, cutting edge “One Stop Shop” service, offering a wide ambit of opportunities and ideas designed to enhance organisations’ business performance. With a fresh, dynamic, forward thinking approach and energetic business ethos.

The services offered by ARBS Ltd include all aspects of grant funding research, completion of bid funding applications based on empirical evidence, bid fund management; feasibility studies; project design and management, professional investigations and internal reviews for businesses.

It is, perhaps, more encouraging to note that the Directors, Carolyn May and Jacqui Peskett are both well acquainted with Cornwall, Devon and beyond. Both Carolyn and Jacqui have previously worked as Project Officers with Bodmin Town Council. Indeed, the design of the Priory Park flower beds, the improved lighting around the Priory Pond and the war memorial seating area can be attributed to the pair, as can the installation of new play equipment at four parks around the Town.

At the conclusion of her contract with Bodmin Town Council in September 2015, Carolyn identified a niche in the market and decided to establish Aalgaard Renshaw Business Solutions Ltd, a company which provides a number of support services to local councils, primary schools, community groups and small businesses. Jacqui decided to resign from her post at BTC in order to enter into a business partnership with Carolyn.

As Jacqui states, ‘The availability of central funding is diminishing rapidly for all but core and statutory service provision. Therefore, any projects that fall out-with those parameters must utilise funding secured from other sources. Consequently, competition for those resources has become fierce and smaller organisations are competing with larger more professional companies. It is our aim to place smaller organisations in the best position possible, to maximise their chance of bid funding success.’

Carolyn adds ‘The ambit of services provided by ARBS Ltd should assist smaller councils, schools and businesses to maximise their income, through their commissioning of dedicated services as and when required, rather than the organisation being obliged to meet the on-going costs of maintaining a permanent employee to carry out the task.

In these days of local government austerity and with the requirement for both financial and organisational transparency, it makes economic sense to buy in services at a fixed cost. Further to this, the Government encourages the utilisation of external investigators in cases of mis-management and staff mis- conduct (such as bullying) as the neutrality of the investigator lends integrity to the investigative outcome.’

At present, ARBS Ltd, is discussing a set of exciting project options with groups, these include potential work opportunities and innovative leisure amenities.
