Boardmaster’s to Launch ‘Soul Arch’ The Ultimate Post Surf Beer

Introducing Soul Arch, a brand new post-surf IPA carefully crafted and created by Boardmasters and Harbour Brewery.

Launching today, Soul Arch is on sale at selected stores, online and at handpicked post-surf pubs and bars in the South West, and will be available across the Boardmasters site from 9-13 August 2017 – the perfect drink to accompany those unforgettable festival moments, alongside Corona and Cornish Orchards, our premium beer and cider partners. Tickets for Boardmasters are on sale now via the website.

Brewed in Cornwall’s Harbour Brewery from fresh Cornish spring water and sunshine-infused Californian hops, Soul Arch epitomyses everything that Boardmasters surf and music festival celebrates. Bursting with beach vibes, this lightly hopped, easy-drinking IPA has tropical notes, an added hint of citrus for that extra thirst-quenching zing and is as refreshing as a dunk in the Atlantic Ocean. Named after the stylish turn pioneered in the 70’s at the Californian breaks of Malibu and Rincon, but made famous by the ‘76 world champ Peter Townend. The Soul Arch is a classic and effortlessly elegant bottom turn, that’s almost as smooth as the beer itself. And of course, it comes in a completely beach-friendly can.

Julian Topham, Co-CEO of Vision Nine and the Boardmasters said:This is an exciting new development for the Boardmasters. Harbour is the perfect partner to brew our first beer with, and we are excited about getting our post surf session IPA out to the beaches this summer. It will be available in select stores and bars from mid-July and at the Boardmasters alongside Corona and Cornish Orchards cider.”

Eddie Lofthouse, the founder of Harbour Brewery, added: “Living and working on the North coast of Cornwall allows us to enjoy a pretty special way of life.  From surfing the swells or putting in a skate session after work, we really do have it good, and the fact that we then spend more of our time researching, testing and making beer than anything else, is no hardship.  We’re massive fans of the Boardmasters Festival here at the brewery, so we jumped at the chance to get onboard to create the ultimate easy drinking, refreshing, post-surf IPA, and we’re loving the ‘Soul Arch’ moniker. Here’s to an awesome festival and we’re looking forward to seeing in joint beer in the hands of locals and visitors alike.”

Inspired by the freedom, adventure and creativity of surfing and music, Boardmasters was born in 1981. Expect parties that run late into the night and a beautiful beach to recuperate on during the day. The 5-day event is situated across two stunning locations in Cornwall – the surfing mecca of the UK, Fistral Beach, where world class International Surf Competitions take place, and arguably the most stunning location in the country to watch live music, Watergate Bay. Last year the grassroots surf and music festival welcomed over 150,000 festival goers to sunny Cornwall. Book your tickets now! Website link.
