So how could Bowen help?
Bowen doesn’t just work with your muscles, tendon and ligaments, it can also have an effect on the nervous system and help problems at the deepest of levels (this makes it ideal to help deal with stress and fatigue). Bowen also works with the connective tissue in your body, called fascia (more on fascia in an upcoming post). In a nut shell, Bowen creates a conversation between your body and your brain almost forcing the brain to reinterpret the signals it is receiving. This can encourage the brain to essentially ‘reset’ the problem areas by releasing tension, strengthening, increasing flexibility or other necessary changes. By also working the group of muscles surrounding the area we can help the brain to find the cause of a problem rather than just help the symptoms. This can help the body sort out its own problems and find a more permanent solution rather than just feeling better for a few days or so.
