Celebration of Training Success
Staff at Falmouth and Exeter University have recently received help to boost their career prospects and enhance their skillset through the FXPlus scheme with training delivered through a partnership with Truro and Penwith College.
It has been a year since Falmouth and Exeter University decided to work with Truro and Penwith College, to offer a range of training opportunities through FXPlus’ StaffPlus scheme. The scheme allows the staff at Falmouth and Exeter Universities to review their training needs and identify opportunities for personal development.
“I was given tools that I could apply to my Helpdesk Supervisor role as well as the role I’m currently seconded into, Tabs Coordinator. For example I hadn’t used a Gantt chart prior to my course and I am following one to keep track of progression of my current project,” said Irirs Ridont, who completed her ILM Level 3 Management and Leadership course.
The universities recently held a StaffPlus celebration and achievement event at their joint site, Tremough Campus, which highlighted achievements of staff who trained through the scheme, three of whom gave short presentations about their experience, filling the room with excitement about potential opportunities in 2016.
Truro and Penwith College staff were on hand throughout the evening to discuss options available, and how they could help support personal development and the options available.
“We spoke to 27 people from StaffPlus scheme who have been on a range of our management courses including Introduction to Project Management, ILM Leadership and Management Award, ILM Project Management Award, ILM Social Media Award, ILM Team Leader Award. The feedback was phenomenal”, said Tamsyn Harris, Head of Truro and Penwith College Business.
Many members of staff booked training courses throughout the day making a successful event for both the college and FXPlus.
