Cornish manufacturing firm grows its team

The UK’s leading non-slip decking manufacturer is expanding its workforce to keep up with demand for its innovative products.

Kevin Girdler has joined Bugle firm Gripsure as its Business Development Manager to establish and develop new avenues for the company and to introduce the firm’s products to more commercial outlets.

Kevin, who lives near St Austell, is looking forward to championing the range of products offered by the Cornish manufacturing company.

He said: “I am very proud to be working with such a well established and respected company and can’t wait to start showcasing the range of products on offer to even more customers.

“Gripsure has an exciting future as it continues to makes waves in the national and international market and I am looking forward to being a part of that.”

With customers all over the country, including Jamie Oliver, the National Trust and Alton Towers, Gripsure also exports to France, Sweden and Ireland and is working with UK Trade and Investment to establish export to Australia.

The company produces a range of six different decking boards, all with high non-slip ratings, for commercial clients and homeowners. The boards are made and distributed from the firm’s Bugle premises.

Kevin, who moved to Cornwall in 2007, previously worked as a member of the original sales team of the hugely successful motor magazine Auto Trader, which started life as a regional title covering the Thames Valley. He was also Commercial Manager for Reading Football Club when the team reached the Premier League for the first time in the Club’s history.

Praising the industry-leading timber offered by Gripsure, Kevin added: “I experienced the difference anti-slip can make myself recently when visiting a location where there was both traditional timber decking and a section of our own product.

“Being rain soaked it was the perfect conditions to compare the surfaces – one was dangerously slippery and the other gave the absolute feeling of stability and security. No guessing as to which was the Gripsure product.”

Gripsure Managing Director Mike Nicholson said: “With his background and level of experience, Kevin is well placed to help us take Gripsure to new markets in the UK and overseas.

“Gripsure is going through a period of rapid growth and we are a very ambitious firm with a great team. Having Kevin on board will help us find new customers and also present our product in innovative ways.”
