Cornwall Business Show: ‘united front will make for stronger business community,’ says organiser
More than 95 of a total 120 stands for 2017 event already snapped up
More than three-quarters of the 120 stands at this year’s Cornwall Business Show have already been booked, and there is steady demand for the balance.
Managing director Andrew Weaver says such a vote of confidence in the event is a sign that Cornwall’s business community has decided to be bullish in the face of uncertainty.
“I’d expect nothing less,” he said. “Cornwall has a history of pioneering and innovation, and while there are question marks over how this year will be, linked mainly to a lack of information regarding our Brexit negotiations and the effect that is likely to have on our access to European markets, our clients are proving they are going to forge ahead and make the most of the local market.
“I know European funding has been key in some Cornish sectors for many years, but we must remain united and show that we are not a county reliant on handouts. We are responsible for our own local economy and I am confident we will continue positively regardless of any outcomes”
Cornwall Business Show 2017 will take place at the Royal Cornwall Showground on Thursday, March 16.
In addition to strong stand sales, this year’s event has attracted a headline sponsor, in the form of Everest Media. We Love Social has been named as the event’s social media partner. The Western Morning News and Pirate FM are the show’s traditional media partners, while audio-visual company JHAV has signed up to sponsor the many business seminars taking place throughout the day on a range of topical subjects.
Everest Media’s managing director, Samuele Armondi, said: “We are really looking forward to being involved with the show. I think it will enable us to achieve a significant profile and help us meet lots of people in a short space of time, something that might otherwise take us months to achieve.”
Bill Martin, editor of the Western Morning News, added: “We’re glad to be back for the third consecutive year. Cornwall Business Show is a great opportunity for us to get out of the office and have conversations with businesses from all sectors. As well as helping us to meet companies who might have stories for us or be potential advertisers, we’re also pleased to be associated with the show as it is professionally run and well supported.”
More than 120 companies will be represented at the show, and upwards of 1,000 visitors are expected.
“Cornwall Business Show is a great opportunity both for new businesses to help establish themselves in the market, and for companies who want to get out there and find themselves new customers,” said Andrew.
Cornwall Business Show is now in its fifth year and is firmly established as the biggest event of its kind on the Cornish calendar. The 2017 show will start at 9.30am and run until 4pm.
In addition to the seminars, popular features of the show include its regular speed-networking sessions, its Connection Wall, and the Meet the Expert facility – to enable visitors to book one-to-one appointments with exhibitors.
The successful Feel Good Zone will be repeated, featuring exhibitors with a focus on wellbeing in the workplace for employers and employees alike.
The price of a stand starts at £475 + VAT for the main arena and £195 + VAT for those exhibiting in the Feel Good Zone. This fee includes one free place on the half-day Exhibition Ready workshop, which is held on the 17th February, which helps companies prepare and make sure they get the most out of the event.
