Fal River Bustles With Activity For Spring Season
Fal River Cornwall, the private sector company that promotes the beautiful river stretching from Truro to Falmouth and the unspoilt Roseland Peninsula, is launching its new spring 2016 season.
The end of March marks the beginning of a busy spring and summer season of bustling activity along the picturesque Cornish river, one of the most popular destinations in the county and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
For the first time this year visitors and locals can step aboard the Enterprise Boats services; the colorful fleet which runs between Truro, Falmouth and St Mawes via Trelissick Gardens and the King Harry Ferry, which will be taking the first of many trips along the Fal River.
St Mawes Ferry will begin operation to their spring timetable, ferrying passengers across the river at least twice an hour between St Mawes and Falmouth’s Prince of Wales Pier/Custom House Quay. Place Ferry will also increase trips between St Mawes and Place Creek.
Tim Light, Managing Director of Fal River said:
“The Fal River becomes a hive of activity during spring and summer, and is enjoyed by more than two million people a year. It offers something for everyone, from sub-tropical gardens and riverside pubs to Tudor castles and undiscovered beaches. Whether you are local or visiting on holiday, the river is a key part of Cornish heritage and provides plenty of ways explore, discover and connect with the waters on our doorstep.”
In time for the new season on the river, Fal River’s annual Area Guide has been launched, packed full of useful information from ferry times and accommodation to local maps, tide tables and beach guides.
The Fal River Accommodation Guide is also now available, containing an extensive handpicked selection of award-winning B&Bs, hotels, holiday cottages and campsites in the region.
Fal Mussel Visitor Cards are now on sale, offering unlimited travel on the classic wooden ferries, rural bus routes and scenic train rides that connect the river with its many attractions.
To enjoy all the Fal River has to offer, Attraction Passes are available for unlimited entry into the top destinations and gardens on the river.
