Free Meeting for Businesses Battling the Brexit Countdown Clock

With just one year left until the UK leaves the European Union on 29th March 2019, businesses are being urged to undertake the difficult task of planning for the future.

To help businesses across Cornwall get up-to-speed with these impending changes, CCB is holding its next free-to-attend Business Networking Breakfast at The Business Space, Truro on Thursday 22nd March (7:45am to 9:30am).

A guest speaker from Stephens Scown, one of the South West’s leading law firms with offices in Exeter, Truro and St Austell, will share practical advice with delegates on how best to start the ball rolling, and the actions that businesses can take now to prepare in advance.

Delegates will also receive a brief update on apprenticeships, including New Standards and funding.

For those businesses who have not already done so, it is important to consider which of your costs are likely to fluctuate, can these increased costs be passed onto customers, likely HR implications such as are your staffing levels likely to change, whether your sales revenue is likely to be affected and whether you are likely to suffer cash gaps after a loss of funding.

Imports, exports, inflation, funding, market confidence and staff are all likely to be affected by Brexit, and so strategic planning is an essential and valuable exercise for the purpose of developing a strategic response.

Sally Foard, Head of CCB, said: “Businesses need to take responsibility for developing their own tailor-made Brexit strategies – a key element of this is making sure your senior management team are adequately informed of the potential impacts to your business, and are ready to adapt to each eventuality. Whether you are an employer, an HR professional or senior manager, make sure that your business is able to act quickly and positively in these times of great change and uncertainty.”
