Grant & Growth Support Programme for Social Enterprises Now Open in Cornwall
Applications are now open for an exciting funding, learning and business support programme to help people wanting to start or grow projects tackling social & environmental issues.
The Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland Social Entrepreneurs Programme 2018, run in partnership with School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE), and jointly funded by Big Lottery Fund, is designed to bring together people who want to change things for the better. People tackling urgent issues like poverty, education, inequality, health, climate change and much more.
Nationally the programme supports organisations at all stages from initial idea through to scale up. This year School for Social Entrepreneurs Cornwall (SSE Cornwall) is looking to recruit start-up social entrepreneurs to help them learn how to set up social enterprises, charities, community projects and impact-led organisations, through a year of learning, mentoring, peer support and a grant.
Sally Heard, SSE Cornwall CEO, is delighted to announce the opening of the applications, saying:
“Through our Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland Social Entrepreneurs Programme we bring together people who want to change things for the better. Since its launch in 2012, the scheme has nationally supported 1,500 social entrepreneurs and will support another 260 people in 2017-18 – one in four of which have direct experience of the social issue they aim to address”.
SSE Cornwall are also continuing to run their popular Engine Room programme. This European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funded programme supports pre-start and start-up businesses as well as established organisations registered less than 3 years. Through Engine Room, SSE Cornwall are offering a new leadership and growth support programme to established organisations to allow social entrepreneurs the scale up to the next stage of development.
Sally continued:
“The Engine Room programme is a fabulous opportunity for social enterprises in Cornwall. It offers focussed workshops and coaching from people who have been there and done it alongside connections with relevant experts and networks.
“We offer a bespoke programme of support, helping social entrepreneurs develop their ideas, as well as supporting established organisations grow and scale their social and financial impact and create employment opportunities.”
SSE Cornwall is one of 11 schools changing lives across the UK, Canada and India. Every year, they help more than 1,000 people learn how to transform their communities and help people in need.
