Huge Success for BF Adventure’s first Charity Ball

BF Adventure held its first Charity Ball at the Alverton Manor on 23rd September 2016. The event was a huge success with tables sold out and a total of £9,000 raised on the night.

An auction of promises was held with generous donations from the local community, sponsorship from local businesses and great music from the local band Gracenotes.

All proceeds from the event went directly towards supporting challenging young people in Cornwall and BF Adventures focused programmes. BF Adventure operates across Cornwall, working to promote the well-being of young people, particularly those disadvantaged through social deprivation, abuse, physical and mental disability, and behavioural and/or learning difficulties.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the guests and the brilliant auctioneer Paul Le Bas from Millerson the Charity raised over £6,000 on the auction of promises on the night. Local restaurants supported the event with donations of champagne which added a little sparkle and a twist to the evening and a raffle was run which added to the overall total.

Debbie Osborne Vice Chair of Trustees for BF Adventure commented: ‘It was an incredible evening where the community once again pulled together with some incredible auction prizes, sponsorship, bids and attendance. The support in the room was fantastic which made for a brilliant atmosphere and a great night. We had some wonderful feedback from the evening asking; when are you doing it again? We wouldn’t want to miss it for the world!’

Adrian Richards CEO commented: ‘It was an incredible night which raised much needed funds for the charity. I would like to express a heartfelt thanks to everyone that donated, sponsored and supported this event. We have raised a significant amount of money which will make a real difference to young people in Cornwall. Thank you.’
