New Food Festival a Big Hit

Truro was thriving with sumptuous flavours and alluring aromas which drew thousands from across Cornwall and further afield for the new ‘A Bite of Cornwall’ Food and Drink Festival.

The event owned by event management specialists LESW proved a huge hit with traders and the public.

Held on Lemon Quay, Truro on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th May the event brought together some of the finest food and drink producers across the county and additional out of county guests, all providing visitors some tempting samples to try or take away. The event was sponsored By Padstow Brewing who were offering an exclusive collection of artisan beers available in cask and bottles. The festival was also supported by our media partner Cornwall Living.

There were over 40 market stalls all trading a variety of produce including delicious cheeses, preserves, chocolate, health foods, gin, spices, cider, charcuterie, fudge, sauces and much more. Outside of the event marquee where street food vendors serving hot and cold foods including gourmet burgers, Indian, Middle Eastern and vegetarian dishes which where all available till 8:30pm on the Friday and 17:30pm on the Saturday, which proved a hit with the visitors. If that wasn’t enough the event was complimented by the local farmers market which turned Lemon Quay into a food and drink bonanza!

The next appearance of ‘A Bite of Cornwall’ Food and Drink will be at the ever growing food and drink market in St Ives Guild Hall on 16th & 17th July and 6th & 7th August, along with later this year complimenting the increasingly popular ‘Cornwall Home Improvement and Self Build Show’ on the 1st and 2nd of October, Showground Wadebridge.
