A New Side to Cornwall’s Leading Business Expo

With a new website, up to 140 stands and new features, Cornwall Business Show is back for 2018, larger and better than ever.

As the event has evolved to clearly become the largest business-to-business event in the county, it has opened up new sections to help charities, social enterprises and business start-ups.

Managing director Andrew Weaver said: “As the show matures, I think it’s important for us to commit to those who need a leg-up. This includes new start-ups that might otherwise not be able to afford to attend and social enterprises and charities that play an important role in our personal and business communities.

“I’m glad we are able to offer an affordable way for them to be at the show. Not only will it help give them gain some deserved attention but will hopefully enable social enterprises and charities to meet with influential businesses that may wish to add value to what they already do.”

This year a total of 140 stands are planned, which is 30 more than last year. Eleven of those will be in the Business Start-Up Zone, for companies less than 18 months old, and the same number of stands is being set aside for social enterprises and charities.

The cost of a 3x2m stand in the main area of the show is great value at £485 + VAT, while the same size stand for a company in the Business Start-Up Zone will be just £325 + VAT. Charities and social enterprises will have to pay just £195 + vat for their stands.

The event’s headline sponsor will for the second year be Everest Media, whose managing director Samuele Armondi said: “We are very happy to be back for 2018. The shows was a success for us this year and we are really looking forward to seeing how all the other great business in Cornwall have progressed over the past 12 months.

“We have some very exciting new products and services that we can’t wait to wait to share with the business community and, as ever, or team will be on hand to show people how technology can solve the issues their businesses face day in, and day out.

The show has a new sponsor this year in the shape of creative agency iMarvel!, who have recently launched a new office in the Cornwall. iMarvel!’s founder, Dean Seddon, said:  “We are delighted to be partnering with one of the leading business shows in the south west.

“Cornwall Business Show is an event which champions entrepreneurs and SMEs, it is a source of contacts, opportunities and enquiries that is vital for any business looking to grow. The team at Cornwall Business Show works hard to make the event a success for visitors and exhibitors, which makes this show a must. Based on the success of the event and its reputation across the region, partnering was an absolute no-brainer.”

The show is also supported for the third year by the Western Morning News.

Andrew Weaver said: “At a time when there is much uncertainty, not least because of the uncertain picture for trade with Europe, it is really important that local businesses underpin themselves with strong foundations based on the local economy. It’s something they can both rely and build upon to give themselves the best chances of success. Cornwall Business Show helps people to thrive in the local economy and celebrates much that is great about Cornish businesses. I’m really looking forward to the 2018 show.”

Cornwall Business Show will be held on Thursday, March 15, at the Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge.
