Networking in Cornwall has snubbed social media and despite the popular platform has seen more and more business people in Cornwall attend physical events.
Cornwall College Business (CCB) has run successful networking breakfasts for local businesses at Launceston Business Space since 2013; due to their popularity two new locations in Cornwall and Devon will now be available.
Director of CCB, Sally Foard, said: “CCB has created a thriving hub for hundreds of businesses in North and East Cornwall through their Business Networking Breakfasts at Launceston. In three years the productive breakfast meetings have welcomed business owners, team leaders, and employees of businesses to share information, tips and network with like-minded people.
“Due to this success we have now added two new venues to our business networking calendar in Truro, Cornwall and Bicton, Exeter.”
From November the Business Networking Breakfasts will be available at The Business Space Truro situated on City Road and from February at Bicton College, Exeter. The next free to attend breakfast will be held at The Business Space Launceston on Thursday 20th October from 7.45am and will see two speakers including Richard Scutt from the Growth Hub On The Road team.
These short morning events have proved priceless for attending companies, with many regularly joining the programme of meetings organised throughout the year.
Leon Sargeant, Corporate Manager at Handelsbanken, has attended the breakfasts since the start and said: “As a local relationship bank, Handelsbanken Bodmin values the long-term relations that have been made through the Launceston breakfast meetings with both customers and professionals alike. It is the focus of these meetings that fits so well with our ethos – serving local communities at a local level.”
Past meetings have included guest speakers from Job Centre Plus, Devon & Cornwall Business Council, Coodes Solicitors, ACAS and National Apprenticeship Service to name a few. With plans to build on these and provide topical, helpful information at all future meetings, booking is essential as spaces are limited.
