Robinson Reed Layton Appoints New Summer Intern
Robinson Reed Layton, the Cornish firm of Chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisers welcome Ollie Downing to the firm as a summer intern.
Ollie, who will be starting his third and final year of a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance at Cardiff University in September, would like to become a Chartered Accountant. He hopes that a summer of work experience at Robinson Reed Layton will help him towards this.
Ollie has been based in the tax department, working primarily on tax returns as well as gaining general experience of accounts work and assisting in the office.
Ollie had this to say about his time in the role:
“Robinson Reed Layton is one of the most well-known and respected firms in the area and has a strong reputation for supporting training in accountancy. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed furthering my knowledge, which will help me with my studies when I return to Cardiff. The work placement has given me a better grasp of what I want to do when I graduate, as well as giving me a well-rounded experience of what it is like to work in a Chartered Accountants office.”
Simon Reed, a Partner at the firm added,
“As a local Cornish firm we like to support the development of local talent by offering work experience opportunities. We had many applicants for our summer intern position and chose Ollie because he stood out to us. He has really got to grips with the work that we have given him and we wish him all the best with his ongoing studies.”
In his spare time, Ollie enjoys playing football and cricket both at home and at university, featuring for Newquay AFC and Cardiff University FC.
