Spring has sprung at Cornwall Air Ambulance

In a sign that Spring has very much sprung, Cornwall Air Ambulance will throw open its doors to gardeners next week for the annual plant sale. As the weather warms up, it’s the perfect opportunity for garden lovers across the county and beyond to pick up a new addition to spruce up the garden.

Garden centres, farms and nurseries from across Cornwall have donated hundreds of items for the show. From plants and shrubs to bedding plants and vegetable seedlings, the generosity of the local community has been fantastic. This has extended to other donations including gift vouchers, garden furniture, cream teas and a lovely gardening hamper. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet crew and see the helicopter up close.

It’s a great opportunity for a family day out, with something for everyone. The day will include a garden-themed raffle, pop-up charity shop, teddy tombola, delicious homemade cakes, and teas and coffees.

Jackie Southern, Head of Income Generation at Cornwall Air Ambulance says: “Every year, hundreds of people come to get themselves a bargain at the annual plant sale.’’

‘’It’s a great opportunity to meet and thank supporters personally as without them we wouldn’t be able to keep the Cornwall Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.  It’s great to be able to introduce the crew and to demonstrate the hard work that they do.”

Anyone is welcome to attend the plant sale, which will be held from 11am until 3pm on Sunday 21 May at Cornwall Air Ambulance headquarters, Trevithick Downs, Newquay, TR8 4DY.
