New sponsor, a mammoth prize draw and great sales, Business Show is set for success
Worldpay and NatWest gives its backing to show and pre-registration is now open.
Cornwall Business Show 2016 is shaping up to be a great success – with nearly all stands already sold, a brand new sponsor and a £5000 prize draw to attract even larger numbers of visitors.
There are now only five stands remaining of the 109, but there is scope to add more.
The show’s managing director Andrew Weaver said: “We had a very strong commitment from exhibitors who had been with us last year, which firmly endorses the fact that Cornwall Business Show works well for local businesses.
“There is a great mix of exhibitors from varied sectors for this year’s show, meaning it will again be an excellent opportunity for people in all kinds of businesses, whether just starting or well established, to come along, make new contacts and meet new people.”
Pre-registration for visitors has now opened. Visitors can sign up by going to the show’s website, cornwallbusinessshow.co.uk, and completing the short online form. This enables them to avoid having to queue and register on the day of the event and they can also find out who is exhibiting, to help them plan which stands to visit.
This year many of the exhibitors are contributing to what is becoming a mammoth prize to be drawn on the day. This will offer one lucky winner – who must turn up on the day – the chance to access goods and services from exhibitors currently valued at more than £5,000.
“We’ve asked our exhibitors to be as flexible as possible about what they contribute, so the prize should be just as valuable to a well-established firm as it would be to a brand new start-up,” said Mr Weaver.
The 2016 show will close earlier than previous events. Last year there was very heavy footfall in the morning, which tailed off by mid-afternoon. So the plan this year is for exhibitors to start wrapping up around 4pm – with an exhibitor and visitor social event in the enhanced café area lasting until 5.30pm.
The event has been further bolstered by the news that Worldpay has come on board as the show’s main sponsor, supported by NatWest.
Mr Weaver said: “Clearly it’s great news that a major international brand like Worldpay sees the value in Cornwall Business Show.
“That is a testament to the hard work of the team that puts the show together, but also to all the businesses that have exhibited and those visitors who have come along to previous shows over the past four years. It clearly demonstrates there is a demand for the Cornwall Business Show.”
A popular feature from last year that will be repeated is the ‘Meet The Expert’ facility, which enable visitors to pre-book appointments with exhibitors. This ensures people can plan their day in advance and make the most of their time at the show.
The hourly speed networking sessions and seminars, which are sponsored by Audio Visual specialist JHAV, were well subscribed last year and will be a feature of this year’s event – which falls on St Patrick’s Day.
The organisers have also taken on feedback from last year to ensure that suggestions for improvements by exhibitors have been considered.
Cornwall Business Show 2016, sponsored by Worldpay, will take place on Thursday, March 17, at the Royal Cornwall Showground.
The event is supported by the Western Morning News, Pirate FM and JHAV.
