Western Morning News to partner with Cornwall Business Show

The Western Morning News is to be the print media partner for the Cornwall Business Show 2015, it has been announced.

The show’s managing director, Andrew Weaver of Live Events South West, says he is delighted the WMN has come on board.

“The Western Morning News is the perfect fit for many reasons – not least that many people view it as being the business newspaper for Cornwall. It is Cornwall’s only daily newspaper, covers the whole of Cornwall and Devon, and has a great digital presence with its website and strong social media brands,” said Mr Weaver.

“As well as all that, the title has such strong sister titles as the West Briton, Cornish Guardian and the Cornishman, newspapers with which we already enjoy a strong working relationship.

“I am confident that a partnership like this will help us tremendously in getting the word out about the show, so we can draw big crowds on March 19 at the Royal Cornwall Showground,” Mr Weaver said.

“The Western Morning News is also a trusted local brand, so we are pleased to be allied with that,” he added.

As well as exhibiting at the show, the Western Morning News editor, Bill Martin, will give a presentation and lead a seminar at the show.

Mr Martin said: “It is clear from the track record of the show that it has significant pulling power, both in terms of exhibitors and visitor numbers, so we are pleased to be involved.

“Getting this number of businesses and individuals together under one roof on one day enables us all to concentrate our efforts and, we all hope, get results to match.

“And for us, of course, it is also good opportunity for us to meet with readers and for them to tell us their stories and let us know what is important to them from a regional newspaper and website in this day and age.”

In excess of 90 businesses have already booked their stands the event and the organisers have the option to release even more exhibition space if the demand is there. There is already a waiting list, but the organisers need to decide soon on the final size of this year’s event. People who have not yet booked but are interested in finding out more should email the show on exhibit@cornwallbusinessshow.co.uk or telephone 01872 888733.

Cornwall Business Show 2015 will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at the Royal Cornwall Showground. Pirate FM is the event’s broadcast media partner and it is sponsored by Truro and Penwith College and Microcomms.
